There's a word in Ukrainian, "vilna", that doesn't translate cleanly into English. "Free" comes close, but it misses something. Vilna is freedom that belongs to you, not freedom granted by circumstances. It's the feeling of being fully yourself, without apology, without performance, without the weight of someone else's expectation.
That word is our brand name. And it's not an accident.
When Vil'na Beauty Studio was being imagined into existence, the founder wasn't thinking about a logo or a colour palette. She was thinking about a feeling. About the particular relief you experience when you're in a space that simply lets you be. No pressure to look a certain way before you arrive. No quiet judgment. No beauty standard waiting to measure you.
In Ukrainian culture, вільна carries echoes of something older — the open steppe, the unbroken horizon, the ancient symbol of wheat that stands for life, abundance, and roots. It's the spirit behind folk songs and embroidered patterns and the stubborn, persistent beauty of a culture that has survived everything thrown at it. That resilience, that rootedness, that particular kind of freedom — we carry it with us to Amsterdam.
At Vil'na, freedom isn't a concept on a mood board. It's a practice, built into every appointment.
It means we don't push a look on you. Our masters are here to discover your vision, your face, your rhythm — and bring it out more fully. It means the atmosphere is deliberately unhurried. We created parallel service rituals (our Six Hands experience, where multiple masters work on you simultaneously) precisely so that a woman with a full life doesn't have to choose between her time and her beauty. She can have both.
It means our space is built around the idea that when you feel at peace, beauty comes naturally. The soft palette, the Ukrainian wheat on the walls, the carefully chosen products — everything is designed to quiet the noise, not add to it.
The beauty industry has, for a long time, made its money on the gap between how women feel and how they "should" look. We're not interested in that gap. We're interested in closing it — not by changing you, but by helping you see yourself more clearly.
